Position Overview
The Vice President of Marketing and Fan Engagement will lead all marketing and communication strategies to elevate the brand and visibility of CT United FC. The Vice President will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing plan that aligns with the club's vision and goals, enhancing fan engagement, driving revenue through ticket sales, partnerships, merchandise, and digital media, and building strong relationships with our local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a long-term marketing strategy to grow the CT United FC brand, fan base, and revenue streams. This includes digital, traditional, and experiential marketing across various platforms (social media, website, mobile apps, etc.).
- Fan Engagement: Create innovative campaigns to enhance fan experience and engagement at matches and through digital platforms. Develop programs to build loyalty and deepen the connection with our supporters.
- Partnership Development: Work closely with the Business Development team to create compelling sponsorship opportunities and maximize the value of existing partnerships.
- Brand Management: Ensure all marketing initiatives align with CT United FC’s brand identity, mission, and values. Maintain consistency and quality in messaging across all channels.
- Digital and Content Strategy: Lead the development of content and digital marketing strategies, including social media management, email marketing, and website content, to increase the club’s online presence.
- Media Relations & PR: Manage public relations and communication efforts, building strong relationships with local and national media outlets to promote the team and its community initiatives.
- Merchandise & Retail Strategy: Collaborate with the retail team to drive sales of CT United FC merchandise, both online and in-store, enhancing fan access to team gear.
- Data-Driven Marketing: Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make informed decisions about future marketing strategies. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to the executive team.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor the marketing team, ensuring alignment across all marketing activities with the overall strategic goals of the organization. Collaborate closely with other departments, including sales, community relations, and soccer operations.
- Event Promotion: Oversee marketing and promotion for CT United FC events, including home matches, fan festivals, charity events, and other club activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in sports marketing, brand management, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in senior leadership roles.
- At least 2-4 years of direct supervisory experience.
- Experience working with soccer clubs or professional sports teams.
- Proven ability to create and execute successful marketing campaigns across various platforms, including digital and traditional media.
- Extensive understanding of creative production processes, and experience in developing digital and social creative solutions.
- Ability to operate within budget and project/forecast. marketing program costs based on industry and historical data.
- Knowledge and experience of/in grassroots marketing and live events.
- Strong understanding of fan engagement strategies and sports business operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with data analytics and CRM platforms.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Passion for soccer and a deep understanding of the sport, its culture, and its fanbase.
